Hey peeps the blog is back! BOYAH! So i'm sure you have all heard of the HD Brows? & i'm sure you guys have all heard of the price to get these brows? £30 and up! RIDICULOUS!!!! If i do say so myself. HD brows is a combination of shaping, waxing, threading & tinting that is ALL (oh and a little brow powder to fill in the brow)! For some people it dose require a course of treatments to get to the desire look, so it can take a good few sessions especially if you have over tweezed/ waxed/ threaded your brows. But for others it can be achieved in one session. Here is a little video to explain what HD brows are:
Peeps i'm starting to do HD Brows, i put up that i would do them for £10 but I've re-thought what i think my service deserve, and i'm setting a price FOREVER at £12.50. Its fair, its square, and its worth every penny! Brows are thee most important thing on our faces for EXAMPLE:
I KNOW THAT IS FREAKY SHIT RIGHT THERE! The hottest women in the world look boggin' without them, so make the most of what yours can do! Even if its not with myself and you all have your own beauty specialist you love make sure they are correctly shaping and making the most of your brow and giving you the correct shape! If you have the wrong shape it actually takes away from your beauty! REMEMBER that it is important! NO MORE FISH HOOK EYEBROWS!
Dear GOD! help that girl above they are tattooed on her head for life! & YES! ladies if you want a well defined shape to your brows then they should be waxed/plucked/threaded above! This is how you get that really nice clean finish to the brow! How to pick the correct shape:
I posted on my Facebook earlier today that i will be doing HD Brows one day a week from my home at the minute but once i move house i will be free for appointments almost everyday! Tuesday the 4th is free at the minute for appointments to get in contact with me PM through Facebook! Here is the link http://facebook.com/rachel.ferran
Hey Guys & Dolls i have an interesting little blog for use today if you are a MAC Fix Fluid addict! Have you ever used Revlon? No? YOU SHOULD! There foundations are just a lot AMAZE BALLS! I found with my abundance of knowledge when it comes to make up (i joke) :0 that Revlon colourstay is a f' off to the hills too good! They are i think £12.45 for one:
They come in two different types of foundations, one for oily/combination and one for dry/normal. As you can guess Dry/Normal is more moisturising and Oily/Combination is for Oily skin! They last alllllllllllll day seriously they do not move! Which is why i <3 them! I have more of a Dry skin and i use to the Oily/Combination foundation, i just moisturise well before using them!
MAC is £19.50:
MAC Fix Fluid is brilliant foundation also i would say it medium to buildable foundation, i would say it would last 5/6 hrs not as long as Revlon and i would start to get quite shinny around the usual spots (nose, forehead chin.) Here is a good video about MAC's foundation range:
So there is a good we bargain to be had if you want to try them instead of MAC Fix Fluid. However i would recommend them just to the NW lovers as there shades i feels have more pink undertones, but they do have one or two neutral shades in there to i would use Nude and I’m a NC25 however there is very little yellow pigment in comparison to my beloved Simpson look! This shade i would use when my tan has worn of a good bit but still the colour is very good & suits allot of skins so have a little nosey!
I would apply my MAC studio fix fluid with a MAC 187:
I would apply my Revlon colour stay with a Illamasqua highlighter brush:
Before applying my Revlon & studio fix i would spray my face with this bad boy which i also use for my eyebrows (see my eyebrow post)
It just makes the application easier and you can alter the coverage of the foundation.
They also carry a foundation called Revlon photoready Makeup. This foundation I’m in love with ATM! Would not be suitable for oily skins but it has a little glow base to it and its perfect for summer. The shades are far better than the Colour stay. So if you like a little glow to your skin have a look at these also:

It’s no surprise that one of the biggest makeup trend EVER! & FOREVER will be, rockin' eyeliner… You just cannot go wrong! The look is endless; there is a lot of styles of eyeliner though, for example:
What i would suggest you do is try every single one of these styles on yourself and take a picture see, which one suits you best. People always make up rules for makeup saying you can't wear this shape on your eyes because you have a certain eye shape, okay for some this may be the case but most of the time, can I just say... it's a load of arse! With makeup there are NO RULES people! There is common sense but no rules so anyone who decides they'll make up a rule for you to go by can just go talk rubbish in someone else's ear.
I personally love my eyeliner like those above its very trendy and all you need to do is throw some lashes on and add a coloured lip and your makeup is banging and ready to head out! Sometimes simple looks 1000 times better!
EYELINER FOR THE JOB
As foundations/lipsticks have different finishes so do eyeliners. You can have a shiny sort of finish which gives an almost glossy wet look to eye and you have a matte finish, I think this looks best but everyone has their favourites. You can also have glitter based liners & coloured liners therefore you can really play about with your eyeliner. For example in the summer electric blue eyeliner looks bloody amazing with a floral dress. You be amazed at how you can change the look of an outfit with your hair & makeup so don't be afraid to go for it and break your shell! Remember ladies and gents, my GOD it’s just makeup it washes off, it’s not going to stay there forever! :)
* You want to find which type of brush you prefer for applying eyeliner; be it a standard brush, an angle brush, a flat top brush a felt tip end or your standard brush end.
Okay so time for some products, starting with the cheapies:
#1 2true eyeliner you can get from superdrug for £1.99 or 3 for £5. This liner is a matte finish and stays put all day long! friggin good shizzle! (Just Black) felt tip end.
#2 Sleek eyeliner you can also get from superdrug for £3.79. This liner comes in glitter/coloured shinny and matte finishes. Felt tip end & brush end.
#3 M.A.C Fluidline. £14.00 This is a Gel eyeliner it can be used in the water line, for a base for eyeshadow and under the waterline smudged out. I swear by this product! For a night out under eyes the makeup gose nowhere and in your waterline you rarely need to topup! You'll need a brush to apply this product. This product comes in a range of colours, & finishes, these are amazing for people with oily eyes to apply all over your lid. TIP: when using these always turn upside down on a flat surface when your're using it to stop product drying out.
#4 Illmasqua eyeliner cake, £14.50 this is basically there discounted liquid eyeliner in shatter only in a powder form. I would suggest using mac fix+ with this product as i find it works amazing with it! This also requires you to use an eyeliner brush but this mean you will have more control with your product ill talk about brushes below. This product will last you forever! So its worth the £14.50 :0
Brush types to apply these with:
#5 Illamasqua Precession eyeliner. £18.50 This is the dearest of the bunch but it will not move of your eyeballs. This is a felt tip end. This comes in different colours and glitter textures.
I have never used these but word on the grape fine tell me that MAC do an eyeliner which you can't get off your eyes which for some people like myself i suppose would be friggin brilliant! & I have swatched Topshop Eyeliner pen and though it was brilliant so check these out also when your in town :)
Tips on how to apply eyeliner:
If you find urself useless i would use a flat top eyeliner brush and a shadow and dip the brush tip into the product and press into the roots of the lashes. This look is very natural but this is start for those for youse who really want to wear eyeliner! You can also use an angled liner brush for this!
If your just okay with i would suggest you use a felt tip brush head or an angled eyeliner brush you will have a lot more control of how you apply the liner!
If your good at applying eyeliner but still just cann't get it really neat my adive to you is you can use any type of brush head you just need a little more pratice!
*get a comfortable postion to sit in you'll need to rest your arms on a surface. Use a zoom in mirror and always look down into that mirror never squint your eyes! squeeze them shut! or look up! The product unless your using a shadow will be wet (this is common sense bit) ... always take a step back and look into a normal mirror! See if it nearly (key word) nearly even. It will never be excatly the same!!! If you are doing flicks my best tip is to aim the flick towards the where the end of your eyebrow ends. This will mean the are more even on each side! But people don't be afraid to reach for the baby wipe to clean up your line or to even them out!
The biggest cheat of all for flicks!!
In this video notice how the girl is using the point of the eyeliner pen to apply the product, i would suggest using the felt tip at an angle and not as she is doing it will make the application way easier!! Also imagion colouring in with a felt tip marker if you use it on its side (at an angle) you get a thicher clean line if you use it from the tip of the pen you get a thin line use this principle when deciding how thick/thin you want your liner!
HOW TO CLEAN BRUSHES
Cleaning your makeup brushes is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo important! They should ideally be deep cleansed once a week and spot cleaned every day.
A spot clean is where you use make-up brush cleaners. You can buy these from a few makeup counters. MAC, Lancome, Estee Lauder. These range in prices and are around £11-£20.
You can also buy brush cleaners in sallys they will range between £7-£10 a bottle.
However you can use a product called surgical spirits, this is what i use to clean my brushes its 98% alcohol and kills all germs with a few squirts. This won't remove all the colour from brush though however its about £2 from any chemist or boots and basically dose the same job as any of the brands above. This will dry out goat hair and sable hair brushes*
To deep cleanse a brush it require you to wash it. Just like your natural hair animal hair will require the same treatment so you would wash your brushes with shampoo and conditioner.
For synthetic hair brushes you will need to use maybe a shower gel or bath wash and to condition like you do your clothes use fabric conditioner. This is will keep your brushes in very good condition.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
#1 Never scrub your brushes onto the surface to clean them massage through the hairs of the brush.
#2 Never soak the entire brush (leave the hole brush in water) because you don't want to saturate the funnel of the brush. This is where the hairs are glued into place and by saturating this area it weakens the glue = hair loss and over time the brush head falling out or apart!
#3 Also squeeze the excess water out & and dry lightly on towel.
#4 Put back into shape!!
#5 Leave the heads of the brushes of the edge of a table and let them air dry over night!

MATCHING FOUNDATION
My dear GOD!!!! This is foundation suicide, if you are a sereal offender then u need to dig whoever told you to do this in the tit! NEVER! EVER! EVER! Match your foundation to your jaw bone or face! The whole point of matching a foundation to suit your skin tone, is that it suits all of your skin! Not just your face. (SHOCK HORROR) This means you need to apply a little foundation to your chest and take a step back. Look in the mirror, you shouldn't even see its there! I don't know how many people have looked at me like im thick as hell because when i show them there match they say ''i can't see nothing'' this is because you have the right shade of foundation and it blends effortlessly into skin.
The benifits of chosing a shade that is excatly the same as you skin tone:
#1 Your make-up looks FRESH
#2 Your skin looks EVEN
#3 The application looks more FLAWLESS
#4 People will always tell you your make-up looks amazing!
HOWEVER... DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN
If you like your foundation to be deeper than your NATURAL skin tone, Key word there people natural! Then use tan! Tan was sent to earth by the gods who sent us make-up don't be afraid of it! Like foundation heres a few tips to pick the right tan for yourself!
* You will need to know what skin type you have & skin tones in your skin. For example: i am yellow based skin tone with very dry skin. ( Ask any make-up artist on a proffesional make-up counter e.g MAC, Channel, Illamasqua. The Artists on these counters are PRO's they know there stuff!) They will be able to tell you your skin tone & if you don't know if your Oily, Dry, Combination they will also be able to come to a conclusion on this also! Free info peeps..
#1 Am i Yellow/pink based skin?
#2 Am i Oily/Dry/Combination?
REMBER TO ALWAYS EXFOLIATE!
* Oily: Then a mouse tan will be good for you!
* Dry: The obvious, a Mositurising tan or gel tans that absorb into the skin!
* Combination: Liquid tans are going to be the best for you.
#3 Swatch a few different Tan on your wrist
Pink skin tones (St Moriz, Fake Bake, Sun Shimmer) These are tans you should look at!
Yellow skin tones (hi-shi, white to brown, california sun).
See what shade suits your skin tone best!
Application: The best way ive found to put tan on the face is with a make-up sponge. Dab into product and stipple (stipple means to dab basically) onto face. Use once then wash with very hot soapy water to clean!
For body: i use a mitt with a sock over it. An old sock preferably! New socks will have fluff that comes of and distorts the tan.
BACK TO FOUNDATION!
So you have now tanned: NEVER use the colour of foundation for your NATURAL skin colour! Your going to need a deeper shade of foundation.
*Having 2 shades of foundation is SMART! you need two to suit the colour for your natural skin, & the colour for your tanned skin.
As your tan wears off you can mix a little bit of your lighter foundation into your darker foundation. Match to your chest again can you see it? If yes & its to pale add a little more of the darker shade. Test again, is it a match can u see it? If so you can't apply all over!
Tips:
- Always wash your brush once a week at the least!
- If you use a sponge, was it out every application or disregard and use a new one!
- Always moisturise your skin leave for 2-5 mins before appling foundation! This gives your foundation a nice even base to be applied to.
- Always wash your skin properly before appling founation!
CHEAP FOUNDATION BRUSHES THAT ARE JUST AS GOOD AS THE DEAR ONES:
Seeing as everyone always asks me who dose my eyebrows and how do i do them here youse go. I pluck them myself, but if your not comfortable doing your own then the best place in Belfast without shadow of a doubt is the LuLu lounge. (Back of Boots in town:
The Eyebrow brush is brilliant, its nice and thin but sturdy. This is what you need in an eyebrow brush, enough pull to let your product glide onto the brow and thin so that you can get nice clean lines.
Lastly i use MAC Fix Plus to wet my product:
*These step should be carried out on neat and tidy brows for better results
Step #1 Spray Fix plus into the mirror (the part of the make-up container where there is no product) & wet eyebrow brush. You only want to use one corner of your eyebrow cake wet as the product will become too saturated over time! Remember this because you'll only be able to use the cake wet if you don't do this. After wetting brush rub into eyebrow cake you want a not creamy consistency on your brush but not watery either so in between.
Step #2 Lliterally draw on your eyebrow. I start on the bottom hairs of eyebrow from the inner corner to the outer tail. Follow the shape of your natural eyebrow and it will make the application allot easier. Let your brush do the work for your, this is why you need a nice thin brush! Then repeat this step only draw a line along the hairs at the top of your eyebrow.
Step #3 This is the easy bit, now fill in the rest of the brow 3/4 of the way along towards your nose using the remaining product on your brush. This is where you will decide if you want a rounded edge, a square edge or what i do a graduated edge. To graduate the edge fill the eyebrow in 3/4 of the way towards your nose. Turn your brush flat along the line that you drew at the bottom of the brow and pull product up. There should be no added product on your brush while doing this step.
OTHER METHOD for those of you who find it way to difficult
CHEAT PEOPLE!! You can now find on the market what are called Eyebrow Stencils. Which look like these:
Today’s blog I’m going to share some things that I use in my make-up kit that are so cheap it’s MARVELLOUS!
My 1# buy of the week and the dearest at only £10 is Sleeks new blush palette (get them Superdrug). Sweet holey lord! If this blush palette could talk it would be squealing ''I’m amaze balls buy me u daft twat'' ... but they can't so I’m just going to tell you how amazing they really are! There are three palettes with 3 shades in each:
If you are starting out or just adding to your kit these are so pigmented & gorgeous! £30 for 9 shades of blusher that is as good as M.A.C or Illamasqua is SICK! But even if it’s for your own personal use these will last u forevaaaa, and they work just as well on the eyes so there you go complete bargain!
2# buy of the week is MUA(make-up academy) £1 eye shadows are freckin' too good some of these are comparable to MAC for example shade 12, very like MAC Club eye shadow or there Blue Brown Pigment:
Heres a link to the website where you can find there hole range http://www.muastore.co.uk/index.php/ there black shade Matte finished is the one i use ALL the time over my MAC carbon and Illamasqua Lestate!
3# MAC 217 dupe brush. MAC 217 retails at £16 and looks like this:
It’s a very good brush for blending. I found an identical brush on EBay that is as good quality, which you normally will never find unless it’s an actual MAC brush but this so boo yaa!
